Use of different types of traps for pest monitoring and control is an important component of integrated pest management (IPM) which may help to solve major environmental and human health problems associated with the overuse of chemical pesticides in India.

Sticky sheets and rolls:

Many sucking pests and flying insects such as white flies, thrips, jassids, aphids, grass hoppers cause direct losses to the crop by feeding on it and indirect losses too, transmitting diseases. Sticky sheets and rolls are very much effective, low cost, easy-to-use and environment friendly solution for this problem. We supply blue and yellow sticky sheets and rolls.

Pheromone traps:

A pheromone trap is a type of insect trap that uses pheromones to lure insects.  These are used for assessing the incidence and building up of pest populations which would help the farmer take preventive/ curative action at the appropriate time, based on the daily/ weekly count of insects trapped. Pheromone lures are also useful in preventing mating during the season by confusing the insects that reduces drastically the insect population of subsequent generations, thus minimizing crop damage. Pheromone lures are ‘species specific’ hence, only target insect will be caught by it. Pheromone lures, pherogel and traps are available at Marvel Flora Solutions LLP for all the important pests of vegetable and fruit crops, coconut, cotton, maize, rice, etc.

Solar Light traps:

Solar light trap is the most effective pest management tool against all kinds of flying insects, especially destructive insects which are having nocturnal habit. These traps need no electricity, no pesticides or chemicals, very easy to install, no maintenance and are fully automatic- switch on by themselves when it is dark and are absolutely safe to handle.

A biological pesticide is a biotechnical organism and can be either a biocide product or a plant protection product. Bio-pesticides include naturally occurring substances that control pest by non-toxic mechanism and micro-organisms as an active ingredient.

Organic fertilizers:

Products containing higher organic carbon; humic, amino and fulvic acid; microorganisms such as nitrogen fixing bacteria, phosphorus solubilizing bacteria, potash mobilising bacteria to increase availability of nutrients in the soil thereby enhancing the plant growth.
